Still to Visit: Wyoming

Here’s to 2020. May it bring everyone peace, happiness, and love. I was able to do a lot of traveling in 2019, and I hope to keep that up in the new year. I’m down to eleven states I’ve never been to. That isn’t saying I don’t want to return to states I have been to (I’ve only been to Southern California, and that state is so diverse the northern part is like a completely different state [or country]). But I would like to cross one or two off the list next year. Here’s the last state I haven’t seen yet. Haven’t visited: Wyoming And, you know, if I would just visit Yellowstone National Park I could knock a fourth of these states off the list! That’s right, the first and granddaddy of the American National Park System is also in Wyoming. In fact, it’s predominantly in Wyoming. Old Faithful, one of the major attractions in the park, is in Wyoming. There’s so much to see in Yellowstone that it’s easy to forget everything else that Wyoming has to offer, such as the Grant Tetons, Jackson Hole, the Rocky Mountains, and wide open spaces. Here’s hoping 2020 gives you some lovely adventures, too! Thanks for reading, and happy new year. I like that idea of visiting as many states as you can. Every year I aim to go somewhere I've never been before. I have a short trip coming up in February that I'm looking forward to.

@FourWalls hopefully no one will be allowed to go now! The alert had been high for a while so everyone does wonder why the tour group went.

Wyoming should be some great sightseeing and the best thing no huge crowds to avoid. According to Wikipedia the state is the 10th largest by area, the least populous, and the second most sparsely populated state in the country.

I really have to go to Yellowstone, but I also have been putting it off. I have been to Cheyenne, though, when I was in Denver, took a drive, and it was kind of cute. Kind of interesting.

Two elders told me I had to see both Wyoming and to drive from the bottom of California all the way to Canada line, breathtaking was how they described both.

Yellowstone and Grant Tetons are basically adjacent. Jackson Hole is at the base and very touristy. Expensive. If you plan to stay, book way in advance. Fort Laramie National Historic Site. Wyoming Territorial Prison. Kemmerer where the first JC Penney's store is. Fossil Butte National Monument. I have been to Wyoming several times.

Yes, Wyoming would be a great trip. You MUST go to northern California for a lot of reasons; but if you like wildlife, you will love it.
