7. There is life after our children leave home. And there is joy after we realize that our grown children will always want to come home every now and then is a fairytale.
8. Marriages can survive storms and be stronger than ever. Husband who adore and serve their wives are not fictional characters. I am blessed beyond words.
9. The church is the body of Christ and not a building or specific congregation.
10. Grandchildren are a whole new level of happiness. My MiaBella, Liam, and Allen make me want to cry happy tears, sing for joy, and dance if I knew how.
11. You can love those who are not biologically related as much as your own. I don’t care what anyone says, Damon and Aiden are mine.
12. All teenagers are not crappy, immature, pains. All 3 of my grown kids were good teens. My teen that is still at home is amazing. All of my kids taught me as much as I ever taught them. They are truly gifts from God.
13. It is possible to be mom and best friend. Tori Roo is my encourager, challenger, defender, and confidante. We can have some knock-down arguments, but moments later, the love overwhelms ys both. If there was ever a child who knows how to love like Jesus, it is she. I wish I had known with my older 3 what I know now. I would have been a better mom and known it was ok to be a friend.
