Do the fonts matter?

Yes, I think the fonts are important. Sometimes you have to choose it carefully. Such as this image, I can see the love feeling from the left but the curse from the right

I tend to use Ariel and Times New Roman .12 by default

Well, a good font is pleasing to the eye. And those who do much reading, a good font is really helpful.

I think they can matter depending on the context lol. And just like @arthurchappell, I tend to use Ariel at a size 12, as it's easier to see, especially when I'm working.

Fonts are important and you must be careful to choose the right one especially for web sites. Some are difficult to read.

@youless Correct and some fonts do not have the accents or some special characters, so I play safe with the fonts.

But sometimes you have to consider whether others have the same fonts like you. If you have rare fonts, they may not be shown correctly for others.
