Diary 28th December 2019 To 3rd January 2020

This diary entry crosses the year and decade boundaries. The Weekend of the 28th & 29th December were quiet for me, making use of the time to get some shopping in and run out the last few days of the bus pass I had for my work at the royal mail centre in the build up to Christmas.
Monday 30th December when the weather improved and though cold, it was a dry day. I went to the seaside town of Southport to take photo and try out a few nice pubs there. I came home as night fell, and the temperature dropped. Waiting for my bus home I was shivering intensely with the cold.
New Year's Eve - learning my welfare was severely reduced by my work earnings puts me on a tight budget for a few months but I did go out for New Year' Eve night. As the buses stopped at teatime I went out early to eat in a cheap bar on my way out. The pub I usually go to for New Year was unusually crowded so I picked another which was nice and relaxed but at 11pm, with jut an hour left to the year, the staff decided it was too quiet and they were going to close. Fortunately another bar nearby was much more welcoming and lively without being over-crowded. I got a taxi home about 1am.
New Year's Day was a quiet day in, (like Xmas it was a day of no public transport) and I phoned my mum to wish her the best for the new year too.
The 2nd & 3rd of January were quiet days for job searching, minor errands, and TV watching.
My photo is the first appearance of the photo of my 2020 diary.

I started to wrote my new Diary too. We were at home during all the holidays. We were alone for the New Year's Eve and the First Day of the Year, but w had our personal celebration. I am glad that you found a place not too crowded where to stay to see the new year coming.

@jaboUK the diary is more of a day to day desk planner for events coming up - the actual record of what I did is these posts - old diaries are handy for a quick reference to what happened when

@arthurchappell I've never kept a diary, I wish I had when I was younger. I'm sure I've forgotten loads of things I did.

@arthurchappell I know that. That’s one of the reasons I stopped..
If it gives you peace, then keep it up, at least when you can.
