The Beach Boys are a rock band that was formed in California in 1961. They started out as a garage band; and their early music was the "California Sound" -- songs about surfing, cars and romance. They are one of the most influential groups of the rock era. Between the 1960s and 2010s they had over 80 songs chart worldwide. In the 1960s they were successful in spite of the British Invasion. The Beach Boys have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

At the risk of being lynched by the “music snobs,” I found this album grossly over-hyped. I know it was innovative for its time, but I just wasn’t made for those times. 
Still, some incredible classic songs on it. The album as a whole, though, didn’t get to me.

One of my favorite albums by the Boys! One of the most influential albums in the history of music with it's sophisticated sound. Paul McCartney said the song "God Only Knows" was his favorite song of all time.
