Siamese Fighting Fish is a kind of tropical fish and it seems it comes from Thailand. My dad has such kind of fish at home. You don't need to have a big aquarium for it. Actually it lives alone so that it can avoid they fight with each other.
It is very beautiful and moves slowly. You don't have to feed it often and also you don't have to change its water so much. This is why we also call this fish as "Lazybone's Fish"

We use to have Siamese fighting fishes they are also called betta. Only the male is colorful, the females are dull, they could be boring at times because they hardly move but when they do they display their color.
You are right, they are easy to keep even in just a medium sized jar with no filter or aerator.

@louievill I checked the internet and it is not easy to breed this fish. The male betta must love the female one and vice versa. Otherwise they will fight to each other badly.
