I have not seen this movie until tonight. I decided to stay in today while the husband is at work and put on Hulu to see what is showing. I decided on "The Fault In Our Stars" because I liked how Shailene Woodley portrayed a book character in the Divergent series. Anyway, while I have an idea of what the movie is going to be about, I did not expect to actually shed tears. It made me think of what I really want in life at the end of it all: to be remembered? To be loved by many? What if I end up all alone? I know these are too sad thoughts, but in the grand scheme of things all we can do is be the best that we can be and enjoy life while we're at it. When the husband came home from work, he got worried that something happened to me because my eyes are red and swollen. I hugged him tight and when I told him that the movie made me cry he just laughed and teased me. He said I am such a softie.

I have to get myself a copy of the book. I know it’s been around for a while now but I am so behind on my reading.

@Raine38 I'm sure you'll enjoy the book. Usually I like the book better than the movies because the books can go a little more into depth with the story whereas the movie has to edit it to fit a certain time frame for viewers. Hope you can find it. I'm behind on my reading too and it's my goal this year to get back to it.

That is why we get along very well. We love each other's uniqueness and quirks.

This is why I watch movies like this by myself. I am a little shy to cry in front of other people, but if everyone is crying because of a movie then that should not be too bad, right?

I agree. This particular one taught me about life and valuing what really matters the most.
