I get the feeling my sister in law is trying to send a message to me and my husband. This is the book she got is for Christmas. No I haven’t read it yet and both me and my husband found it kind of insulting of a gift to give. You don’t know what to get the two of us how about a small dinner card. I know they say marriage is hard but ours has been pretty easy we have had some ups and downs and are very loving with each other. We have almost been married 10 years in a few months. This book is going to donation

Are you not curious about what to read inside? I would be and stop reading when I find it dirty.

Nope not what so every it tells you how to be affection with your partner, to find time for each other, how to communicate which none of those do either of us need to work on.

@ShyBear88 I see. I wonder why they gave you this gift. I think I would feel insulted, too.

@thelme55 I guess she think we are hitting 10 years that we need a reminder which we do.

I’m not keeping a book. Gifts do not need to be kept. When someone gives the gift after it’s given its up to the giver to do as they wish with it. This book is going to donation. It is something that ain’t need

I have come across that book before. I think the writer is saying that we can interact in love in different ways. Love has different ways of communicating or getting through to a person. There is another book, "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus", which also purports that men and women love differently, or think differently, or are as far apart as which Mars is to Venus, in other words, in their makeups. Are there really different ways to love? I would say that love builds on love, but the communicativeness behind love requires love to open itself up to itself, within us, and so, in this way, there are different ways of interacting with others, and with life itself, that work with love in different ways, if we allow it to do so, and so love can then act behind our thoughts, our emotions, and our ways of interacting with others, and ourselves too.

We have plenty of love and have changed over the years but we are very good talking and sharing and what not. It’s more then that this book goes into how to talk and show affection because after a few years most couples hit this hill where they just don’t give it any more.

@innertalks in all this isn’t a book for me and my husband. The books we real she wouldn’t be into. Our relationship is different then most people because it’s more on the taboo side of things.

@ShyBear88 Yes, the book talks about understanding unique needs of others through using the love language that matches the other's preferences. Yes, this book, as you say, is more for couples whose love has hit the hill, and need a bit of a boost again to reach the top of love's hill, and so enjoy its view again too.

@ShyBear88 That is great that you two can overcome anything. So, why do you think she would give you a present like that? Good idea to donate the book.

@ShyBear88 Sounds like she does not know you very well is why she gave the book to you.
