The more I think about it...

Last year, at about this time, I got rid of Kindle Unlimited. I wanted to read more of the books on my shelf. I did do some of that, and even got a few more books. However, I missed a lot of good books that were / are available on the kindle unlimted program.
Lately I've seen lots of sponsored posts on facebook about books that are on the KU program. It makes me want to get KU again. I know I can get a 12 month plan for around $80 or a monthly plan for around $9.99.
I am thinking about doing the 12 month plan, but I won't be able to afford it yet...
Others watch lots of television, I read lots of books.
Do you get rid of expenses at the beginning of the new year? It's a good practice. I did that the past few years but this year I had no expenses to get rid of.

I didn't have anything to get rid of either, so I decided this year I'd try to pay more towards some of my bills..

I used to be the same way, but to be honest I'll read both types. I couldn't do without physical books, but I've found so many authors who do not do physical books that I love.

No, I didn't...I don't have many expernses that are discretionary. Why don't you try what I did, sign up for the free trial of Kindle Unlimited and then when you go to cancel they will probably try to woo you back with a swet deal like they gave me. I don't read that much though...so I am quite sure I will be cancelling at the end of the 3 months.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Give it a whirl..or you could try to have a friend get it in their name or something..with the agreement you would be responsible for costs incurred.

@snowy22315 That's a good idea.. I might see if I can get my friend to do it, but I'll first see if I can get a free trial...

I can try that, but since I've had kindle unlimted before, I am not sure if they'll let me do the free trial.

@Tina30219 Not yet, but I will tonight before it's due. I am going to eat dinner and then go and read the rest of it.
I am excited to see what will happen.

Ah okay. Guess what I got? I went ahead and got KU because they were offering it for 99 cents per month for the first three months.

The expenses I have now are a must as well. However, I had subscribed to several subscription boxes that I decided to get rid of, and then there was also subscription channels I did the same for. It helped a lot with my budget. This year, however, I didn't have anything to get rid of.

It's my favorite form of entertainment... I do notice that my language (the words I use) improves when I read a lot. I guess because I read a lot of historical fiction.

@Nevena83 No, they don't. I tried to get my niece and nephew into reading but they wouldn't do it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum That's really good. The current children do very little to read books.

It's good to keep expenses low but to have some money for fun from time to time.

I haven't really gotten rid of anything per say. I decided a few months ago to unsubscribe from the WWE Network (pro-wrestling) during the months I don't want to watch their PPVs, and then resubscribe when I do want to watch it. There is more content on it, but I really only have it for the monthly PPVs.
I unsubscribed in December, and I'll be resubscribing in a week or two for their January event, and then unsubscribing for Feb. and March. It's only $9.99 a month, but it adds up, and sometimes I don't feel like spending my Sunday evening watching their PPVs. That's when I'm focused on other things, like preparing for the writing week. I figure if I mainly get it for the four bigger PPVs, I'm saving about $80 per year.
I hope you're able to get Kindle Unlimited again soon! There's nothing wrong with reading a lot of books. :)

I found a deal for 99 cents a month for the first three months. I am going with that for now. I may do what Snowy suggested which is to cancel, and they may offer me a better deal just to keep me.. If that doesn't work, I'll just do the $80 for the year.
Yes, I am excited about the cruise. I need to talk to my friends about it more seriously. I know that it's something they want to do, but I need to start a payment plan with carnival cruises for the exact same thing they'll be doing. I'd be terrified if I ended up booking a different cruise!

@RebeccasFarm Yes, definitely wouldn't undertake such a thing without my friends. You know I am an introvert and socially awkward at the best of time. I'd need them to be there as my security blanket so to speak.

I can suggest Sling TV as a somewhat good cable cutting alternative. There are a lot of others out there... One guy mentioned one here a couple of months ago that was around $12 a month I think.
Sling is $50.00 for a good package though, and if you watch sports it's not a good fit....

We got rid of Amazon Prime because we didn't use it.

I did that a few years ago myself. I used amazon prime video the most, but most of what I was watching were things I had already bought, so no need for me to have it.
