Derek Guilin who is the owner of a five year old named Lucille who lives in Denver Colorado is sharing a story that is to put in mildly bizarre. Derek was in the company of Lucille when a severe windstorm hit his area when the door open to his home when his dog who had her collar on, saw a squirrel running outside. Lucille then left the home chasing the squirrel when Derek noticed that his dog did not come home the day she ran away on Sunday morning which alerted him that something was not right. Derek suspected that a stranger kidnapped his dog by taking off her collar so the kidnapper could sell Lucille to someone else for a price of $150 dollars. Derek with the help of his friends and neighbors, started a search party by putting up poster to inform his community to please return his dog. On Friday, Derek received a phone call from a stranger saying the purchased a dog that looked like Lucille. He saw her likeness on a poster when he walking her when he realized that the dog he purchased was not his. Derek went to the stranger's home to pay the reward money and thank the owner who found Lucille safe and sound. To put it mildly, Derek and Lucille were happy to be reunited once again after a short separation from each other which was almost one week. It is just terrible what some people do to make money by kidnapping a dog and sell the per to a stranger not realizing that the owner of the kidnapped dog is feeling the pain of not being with his best friend. If we do not have to worry about children being kidnapped by strangers, it is now the pets.

@Alexandoy I am sure the person who purchased the dog and gave it back to Derek can identify him to the police.

I agree with you since dogs who are loved return love back.

That is some story. How I wish that Lucille had bitten that person and run away from him. I am glad she has been found.

I agree with you since most dogs that I know of do not like a stranger getting close to them.

Dogs get stolen here quite often. Some are used for fighting which is a terrible thing to do.

@JudyEv It breaks my heart to see that. I like it when dogs play with each other as good friends.

The owner should have taken care to restrain the dog from chasing squirrels.

Who in their right mind would kidnap a dog and then sell it to another stranger? I do not know of anyone that does that.
