So I have said in the past I thought the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame was a bunch of crap and this year they didn't disappoint with their picks of who got in. I know this as been argued in the past about who or what should be getting in but my stand still is it should be Rock N Roll bands/artist.
This year some that didn't get in include Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy, Motorhead and Soundgarden. But the big one to me was Pat Benatar. One of the biggest female artist of the 1980's and she didn't get in? She was 2nd on the fan votes and the Hall just decided that she was not getting in.
Instead of these bands they put in Whitney Houston and The Notorious B.I.G. Nether of these are Rock N Roll. Whitney although liked by many, many albums sold and a number of #1 hits, not even close to Rock N Roll, And B.I.G., again not even close to Rock N Roll.
Whitney came in 6th in fan voting and B.I.G. came in 13th, They got in but Dave Matthews Band who came in 1st in votes with over a million votes - not in. Pat Benatar came in 2nd in votes with over 800,000 votes - not in.
Just another year that is a complete joke when it comes to who is getting into the Hall and who is not getting in.

I am glad about Doobie Brothers and Depeche Mode but Pat shut out again is total crap. Notorious B.I.G.? An endless stream of expletives over that.

...what? Whitney Houston and Notorious B.I.G. are NOT rock and roll. They're incredible artists, don't get me wrong...but it's a different genre completely. I agree with you.

Right. Like I say they might be good to those who like that kind of music but as a fan of Rock n Roll I do not care for either one of them. Not to say they should not be in a Pop Music Hall of Fame or a Rap Music Hall of Fame but the Rock n Roll Hall, I think not.
