I love this little image and saying. It is so true for me. I have found that I have less patience these days when pushing my cart around in stores, especially grocery stores. Yesterday it took me over an hour to complete my grocery shopping. I ended up stuck inbetween two people who decided they were entitled to take up the whole aisle. They stood there talking and deciding what it was they wanted blocking the entire aisle. When I tried to turn around there were too many people behind me blocking the way to get through. We had a traffic jam going in the middle of the canned vegetable aisle. I was bumped into and stuck at a stand still for a good 5 to 10 minutes. Saying excuse me, may I pass just didn't work. It seemed as though I was the only one bothered by the stand still traffic. Afte4r an few incidents similar to this I think I have pretty much decided that I will order my groceries online and arrange to pick them up. Am I just a grouchy senior citizen or have people stopped following polite grocery store etiquette? Hope everyone has a happy healthy day.

It's terrible when people won't recognize you want to get through when you ask politely. I totally understand that image. I've been a victim a few times of your situation.

@HazySue I'm feeling the same way. I've heard a lot of people with positive comments about the food they get when the store picks it for them. If the Aldi near me starts that, I'll take advantage of it. I love their produce and meat. That's the bad part, I would lose the steps in not walking the aisles. I take advantage of that as much as possible.

I am looking more and more into ordering online and just going to pick up my groceries. The problem is, I like to pick out my fresh food and I like going up and down the aisles.

@just4him Aldi is a great store, I would probably take advantage of the pick up there. If they ever have one.

How inconsiderate! Usually I am the one gabbing and blocking the aisle, but I always keep an eye open and let others through.

I would agree with you here, blocking is nothing when there is nobody to block and we are deciding what we want to get. It's just a matter of get what you want and do but be conscious and on the lookout for other people.

@DianneN You are a polite aisle blocker. You move over and let others get by.

I say "Excuse Me" and if I don't have any reaction, I bump into their carts.

Many of them seem to act as though they are the only ones in the store. I have to agree, some people seem to have left their manners in the car when they got out.

Thankfully our aisles never get that busy but, if they ever do, you only need to ask and people will let you through.

How lucky you are. It seems that no matter what time of days we go shopping the grocery stores are crowded.

Some people are just so engrossed with what they want and what they want to do that they forget that there are other people around them, I'm not really sure if this has something to do with up bringing, environment, or they were simply born like that.

I will never understand why they need to stand in the middle of the aisle instead of along the side. Sometimes I feel like using my cart as a bumper car.

People can be so rude. I go through the stores in a scooter and am often blocked by people gabbing in the aisles.

I think it might be like a social meeting for some of them. I think maybe they don't get out much.
