Chicken Pie from Scratch

I went grocery shopping with my better half this afternoon. I went to Rossman to buy some cosmetics that I need while my better half went to a store where he bought his painting utensils, again. After that, we went to Aldi. We still had 2 fried chicken thighs leftover from yesterday. I was thinking to make a filo pastry food with the chicken meat. I just made the pie from what I have in the fridge that have to be eaten before they would get rotten. Yes, the chicken pie turned out delicious. We had the pie for our dinner with veggie salad. Have you made anything from scratch? Thanks for reading. I hope you have a nice weekend.

Chicken pie sounds yummy. We make most things from scratch although we do buy sheets of ready-to-use pastry. My mother always made her own pastry but nothing else was available.

@thelme55 The ready-to-use pastry is so handy and so much easier to use than making your own.

I was using the ready-made pastry @JudyEv which I have bought the last day of December. Gladly it was still good. Thank you.

That looks delicious, homemade is the only way to enjoy a chicken pie. I am made chili from scratch a little while ago, its on the stove cooking now, we'll enjoy it with a little piece of the baguette for supper tonight.

@thelme55 Thanks Thelma, it was a nice winter's meal. I don't really care for the baguette, as I eat very little bread, but my husband loves it. One baguette has to be cut into thirds for 3 meals with us. The other 2 pieces are in the freezer for another day.

Really? I can´t waste food and so I try to do something else so I will not throw them. Just like today. I made Spaghetti bolognese and we still have leftover for the next day. So, I think I will bake the leftover with mozzarella cheese on top tomorrow so I will not eat the same menu, spaghetti bolognese. Thank you @cacay1

I made Filipino style " torta" ( similar to omelette) from scratch this morning using cheap local canned meatloaf.

No, I have used the ready-made pastry. It looks like a flaky pastry as the parchment paper I used was coming out of the edges of the tin. Thank you @RebeccasFarm
