It's hard.

It's hard going from talking to someone every day to not talking to them for months at a time...
It's hard to go from your phone lighting up at a particular time of the day because you get a text from a friend to not seeing a text from them in weeks.
It's hard to go from seeing a friend at least once a week to seldom never...
It's hard when people walk away...
It's hard when people don't have the time for you anymore...
Its hard when you don't know where you stand with your friends because they're so 'hot/cold'

@Fa_Maverick Probably. There must be a way to overcome that. Life is too short.

@porwest just takes time. I have had depression since I was 6 medications have failed but I see a counselor. Sometimes you just get in a rut and it'll pass it's just getting through it that is the issue.
I have a lot of other things going on so it's just piling up.

Yeh I think it's my depressive state contributing to it.

My happiness, self-worth or self-satisfaction is not dependent on my friends and how frequently they keep in touch with me. I set the tone myself for how I'm going to live my life, how I'm going to interact with people, and what I'm going to do or not do. If my friends want to be a part of that, then they need to hurry up and jump on the bandwagon; if not, they get left behind! haha
Btw...if I haven't heard from a friend in quite a while, I will reach out to check up on them.

@Fa_Maverick I'm sorry to hear that. Your worthiness in this world is not dependent on whether you feel depressed or not. You have great worth no matter what! Do you suffer from depression? If so, are you taking any kind of medication to treat it?

@moffittjc I do have depression yes. I have tried several medications all of which haven't seemed to work for me... I do have counselling and such.

That's good for you. My happiness etc doesn't depend on them either. I'm going through a depressive slump so I feel worthless anyway.

My friends don't seem to be interested in seeing me unless there is something in it for them... Maybe it's just because I'm in a depressive state...

@Fa_Maverick I disagree. sounds like they are somewhat selfish if only seeing you to obtain something.
