It's been a good day. All across the country, people have been seen showing respect to this great man. They have shown, in many ways, their respect and high esteem felt for him. One way they have honored him to name streets after him in a diversity of areas throughout the US and Puerto Rico. The state of Georgia, where he was born, has the most streets named after him. In 1968, the year that he was assassinated, Chicago became the first city to rename a street after him. These are found in large and small neighborhoods, urban and rural, commercial and residential. Approximately 955 streets bear his name.
