I Like To Be Funny

I like to be funny, crack jokes, speak nonsense( not all the time ofcourse) but most of the time I will keep smiling. In my Whatsapp friends group, family group and my work group. I am always saying somethings funny. But I find in all the three groups or even chatting normall to anyone from my contact list, people react very coldly. Sometimes I would not even see a reply even from the most useless people. Like they are not even working lol. I agree sometimes they can be busy. But I can feel like people don't count me in. Even my husband is sour most of the time when I crack jokes or laugh. It makes me feel like they might think of me as an idiot. I have been depressed most of my childhood and even now and then. But I still try to work it light. Some people are only sour. I feel I am an idiot. Do you also feel left out, even when you try to fit in?

Humour is very subjective and it varies from person to person so I wouldn't feel too bad if people don't laugh at your jokes. No one ever laughs at mine because I am so bad at telling them! You're not an idiot, just shrug it off even though it might be difficult.

@Archie0 I think we all feel like that sometimes. There are times when I have been out and everyone seems to be having a good time except me.

I agree with @sprite1950, humor is subjective. Some people think that laughing at jokes make them seem "not serious", do not care, continue to joke as you like.

Exactly. And I don’t understand those people in my group who laugh over every other persons joke and responses to them quickly etc. so it is not that about their mood. It’s something about their personality

I would say that you know you can't please everyone, so just worry about pleasing yourself. Be yourself. Be happy!

I don't know what to say because I also want to be funny but I can only do it online. In real life people are scared of the grumpy old man who is the real me.

Don’t let them get you down. Some people are natural born dullards, and nothing you say humorously will reach them. Just keep being YOU!

Sometimes....but that is ok. Sometimes others are not in a mood for any laughs

@Archie0 I understand. Just try a trick. Just remain silent for a few days. Your husband will definitely come up and ask what the problem is

@amitkokiladitya I mostly never talk to lot of people or even with my husband. He is busy with his mobile for all the 24 hours. He will not even turn up to talk if I don't do it myself. Also in my whatsapp group. All people are making fun and laughing. But when I enter in the party they all go silent and then no one replies back. This is not sometimes, but they all do it everytime. Yes, like you said. I have now stopped talking or replying to any groups on my whatsapp. I don't talk or reply to anyone. And I don't even care what my husband is up to. I have now kept myself busy and no laughter.
