1964 - Mariska Hargitay was born. She is an American actress, director and executive producer. She is best known for her role as Captain Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit which she has played since 1999. She won a Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe for her work in this role. She is the daughter of Mickey Hargitay and Jayne Mansfield.
