For all of the talk of immigrants who move from their homeland to Canada have found meaningful work courtesy of the City of Montreal to work in the neighbors assisting the elderly to remove snow from their front lawns and sidewalks.
What makes this story great is that many of the immigrants who come from Africa and surrounding areas find shoveling snow from the sidewalks of the elderly residents who are not able to remove the snow from their front lawns and sidewalks is that it is a breeze compared to using shovels to remove dirt from the ground.
It is very nice of the government officials in Montreal to inspire their citizens to clean up snow from the front lawns and sidewalks to win a prize of $10,000 dollars to the residents of the neighborhood who does the best of cleaning up the snow in their neighborhoods.

I like the way that the city officials in Montreal are doing their part to make the immigrants welcome to lend a hand.

You are welcome since what the television programs like to promote is that immigrants who come to America are not welcome and are placed into terrible housing and work assignments.

@Hannihar I know how you feel since being born in the former Canal Zone in the early 1960s to a Hispanic parents was like being a minority in a White neighborhood.

That is sad. I was born in the States, but, I did not feel I belonged there because of being Jewish. My father and grandparents came there from Russia and built a life for themselves.

Very good incentive for the people to join the snow cleaning in the community.

@Deepizzaguy That's wonderful. We call it in our own Filipino language as "Bayanihan" - an attitude of the people in the community to help anyone who is in distress in a converted efforts of every member in the community.

Those civic-minded immigrants should be given a reward even by just a picture in the local newspaper.

It is one good way to give them work as a way to thank the Montreal city officials for giving them some work to assist the elderly in town.
