Lorna Burnett who was a former librarian in Scotland had a passion of reading books before the disease Lupus ended her ability to read a book or spend long of periods of time watching television since her eyes would hurt her.
Thanks to a program called Reading Friends, Lorna learned that students who are passionate reader like her 15 year old friend Alisa who was assigned to be the designated reader for Lorna who has become become great friends with Alisa who is a student at Bannockburn High School in Scotland.
The credit goes to Bannockburn High School teacher Ruth Sheppard who had a vision where teenagers who love to read would read books to senior citizens who are suffering from vision loss due to the aging process.
The program benefits both the teens who develop their passion for reading and giving the senior citizens a close friend who is their reason to keep on living since they have a friend to keep them company.

It is a win win situation since the senior citizen has the company of a teen who reads books that senior citizen cannot read due to poor eyesight.

I agree with you since a young teen gets to develop their reading skills and make a senior citizen happy at the same time.

It is a great idea since senior citizens who are lonely appreciate having the company of a young person who shares their passion for reading books.
