National Peanut Brittle Day Spouse's Day 1838 - Tennessee enacts the first prohibition law in the United States. 1905 - The world's largest diamond 3,106.75 carats (.621350 kg) is found near Pretoria in South Africa. 1925 - Paul Newman was born. He was an American actor, film director, producer, race car driver, IndyCar owner, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Some of his movies: Hustler, Hud, Cool Hand Luke, The Sting and The Color of Money. Newman founded his own line of food products, Newman's Own, in 1982. All proceeds, after taxes are paid, are donated to charity. He was the husband of Joanne Woodward. He passed away in 2008. 1958 - Ellen De Generes was born. She is an American comedian, actress, talk show host and writer. She started her career in stand-up comedy in the early 1980s. She starred in the sitcom Ellen Show from 1994-1998 and The Ellen Show from 2001-2002. De Generes has had her own talk show, The Ellen De Generes Show from 2003 to the present time. What a great day! Imagine the value of a diamond of that size? Happy we still have Ellen with us and sorry about Paul. He was a good guy, wasn't he?

I have to thank you for this post it is all the day that I try to remember the name of that talk show host and writer and now I finally remember: Ellen De Generes! I am getting old, I forget the names.
