I ask for a doctor to help me solve my anemia. I just want to go to a public health center and have a free doctor advise and prescription but the doctor is not available for the last two days. I had UTI and the public doctor cured me so I trust public doctors. But today we decided to go to a private doctor. It is expensive and I pay 710 pesos. She gave me a medicine which has a generic name mecobalamin anti-anemic which I will take twice a day for 10 days. She also give me a multivitamin with iron. I also plan to drink and eat boiled malunggay leaves. Hope it will work and in 10th day I will have blood test again. Hope my hemoglobin goes up at that time and reach the normal values

Are you a vegan or a vegetarian? B12 vitamine and iron are lacking in peoples not eating meat or fish. You could have bought that without asking a doctor.

I'm not a vegetarian and I eat a lot of meat and fish. Do you think my medicines will not work?

@averygirl72 I am not a doctor, all I can tell is that this doctor targeted a lack of meat eating. You will know in 10 days...

@topffer Maybe the doctor did not know that. She just give that medicine because it says anti-anemic. I will know after 10 days

I think that is just to check if the medicine will improve your blood count and that will help them maybe decide what level of anemia it is, but 710 is too expensive, may I know where are you located? Then you still have to do lab and another consultation. I used to have very low blood count it went down to 61. They said 120 is the normal. So I had to do blood transfusion for 2 packs of blood.

I have always been anemic or borderline anemic. I felt so exhausted all the time and winded and my heart would pound so hard. I take a multivitamin and an iron pill.

I think my anemia is just mild. My result is 95 when the normal is 120. I don't feel tiredness or that my heart pound. The only thing I observe is I look pale other than that I feel healthy. I need to regularly take maintenance to make my hemoglobin stable

Chicken and poultry have very little iron, but if you eat them with spinach you will increase the iron intake. Also oranges help to fortify the system and to fight anemia, eat also nuts and seeds.
