You can slice a potatoe really thin and place it over the insect bite. The potassium sucks the poison out of it. Instant relief

@simplfred make sure the potatoe is room tempurature if it is refrigerated it will irratate the bite

Oh I am glad you are okay now. Did you go to the doctor and have it checked? Insect bites on Eye can be dangerous if the bite hit your eyes directly. I hope it is not since you were able to report back to work already.

I've had a swollen eye recently and it makes it hard to do anything. I had blurred vision but I think it was just a blocked tear duct which made my eyelid swell.

@simplfred That's good. Mine is not a bite. It doesn't hurt but it makes my eyelid red and slightly swollen.

Maybe you need to apply cortisone cream, your body response might be over reacting to the bite of the particular insect. Areas around the eyes and lips are also more sensitive than other parts of our bodies.
