If you are like me who happens to grow up in the advent of pre-YouTube mainstream days... Then you stumble upon this "Beauty Guru". She paved the way in the now what's called "Makeup Tutorials". This person i'm talking about is Michelle Phan. Michelle Phan is one of the original YouTube celebrities that started the trend of uploading beauty contents on YouTube. From DIY skincare, to the sultry smokey eye Makeup Tutorial name it she has it! She began her YouTube career in 2006 and was one of the first YouTubers that gain a mass following. She garnered sponsorships with Loreal and had partnered with the company to create her cosmetic line "Ipsy". While Phan gained traction in the beauty community, It made her look more commercialised which lead her to take a break from social media to take care of her self-image as well as battling with legal issues on her beauty brand. On 2017 she took a hiatus from YouTube and people never heard of her again... Recently 2019 of December Michelle Phan shocked the beauty scene with her rebrand of her cosmetic line... She bought "Ipsy" from Loreal and rebrand it to "EM Cosmetics" which is now selling out globally. Her hiatus in the internet world gain her a breath of fresh air and new ideas on her YouTube channel with new and innovative content as well as cosmetic products that are ideal to all skin types. Now 2020, She is fully back on the YouTube scene in a more personal and laid-back Michelle Phan a more "her" than the commercialised one. The O.G. is finally back!
