China is working to ensure that it's people do not spread information about the way Beijing is responding to the virus outbreak. A doctor in China posted to a WeChat group about the virus itself and was arrested, made to sign a document saying he would not talk about it any longer. Unfortunately, he is now among those who have the virus and is in critical condition.
From what I have learned, In China, face (outward appearance) is very important to the government and it's people.

@Bensen32 True, but it's not just their own citizens now, it's the citizens of the world.

That's the way they operate apparently. They'd rather save face than save lives.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Well I mean they do have like a billion people living there I guess they feel they can spare a few to save face.

On the News dinnertimes it says that a cruise ship not sure if its a Spanish Cruiser has been detained in a Port in Italy there are six thousand people on board and a Chinese couple are suspected of come down with the virus.
Not confirmed yet though so until it is confirmed the whole ship has to stay in the Port until further notification.
I think its correct although Spanish News can be very unreliable.
There are a lot of other people onboard from many different countries too..
I hope the said lady and husband are clear of that awful illness.

@lovinangelsinstead21 Yes, I've heard about that as well.
It's just awful. An epidemic that could have, and should have, been contained.

Yes, it's so sad! So many lives in peril, and the virus could have been contained.

I follow two people on youtube who used to live in China. They have talked about the Corona Virus recently and how / why it was so poorly taken care of in China.

@divalounger It's terrifying! Anna was just telling me that two people who boarded a plane in Hong Kongo to get to Italy for a cruise.. Those people may have the virus and are already aboard the cruise! If they have it, they've helped spread it.

They are worried about how they will look to the world. The outbreak has reached crisis stage.

Yes, that is it exactly. They do not care about the lives of those who have been infected with this, and they do not care to shut down airports and other means of travel outside of the country.

I feel sorry for him too. He was only trying to inform others, and then he gets sick himself.

Yes! that's horrible. Think about the people on the plane that were also exposed. I believe the couple flew from Hong Kong.

@CarolDM Not crazy, just unaware. China isn't letting any of their citizen really know the truth behind the virus. They don't want their citizens to panic, so they simply aren't warning them.

It really is. If you want to learn more about what's going on in China, go to Laowhy86 on yotuube. He's done a couple of videos on the Corona Virus.

It's despicable if you ask me, but then no one ever asks me my opinion.

China cares a lot about how the world sees it. They care a lot about what their citizens know as well. They care more about the way they look to others.

@aureliah I am not sure, but I think it will get a whole lot worse before it gets better. Or we will find out later that it was a whole lot worse than even we knew.
