Still Tired After a Good Sleep

There are times I find it difficult to get to sleep - and to stay asleep. I am often at the mercy of my bladder, getting up at least a couple of times during the night. One of those times is around 4am. This week, it was about an hour later after a good 5 hour sleep. Today, I woke up after a full 9 hours - I got up about to go to the bathroom about 3 minutes before my work alarm went off! I did struggle to get to sleep so it probably wasn't quite 9 hours but I definitely needed whatever I got!
Telling someone about it today, I was told not to make people jealous of the amount of sleep I'd had
I don't think they'd have been jealous of the previous nights and the way I ended up having to sleep that much. They'd certainly not be jealous to know I'm still tired after it! My husband had a good sleep as well. He said he woke up feeling good and refreshed this morning - he has chronic health conditions including Chronic Fatigue/M.E. so these good days are rare.
As for me, I'm permanently tired. I think it's between minor health conditions and not having chance to stop when I need a rest! I didn't do much last night - made dinner and watched TV (first episode of Star Trek: Picard, which we enjoyed). I even had chance to get in the bath for the first time since the weekend! Thanks to my husband - he wasn't able to prepare dinner but he did run my bath.
I'm certainly feeling better than I was yesterday (I was completely exhausted from various things). But I still feel like I could have a nap in the corner. If only I could get a regular unbroken 8 or 9 hours every night (instead of my usual broken 4 or 5), I might eventually stop being tired!
How much sleep do you need? Could you do with more or do you wake up refreshed every day?
How mc

I usually get 2 hours of unbroken sleep a night and then in small spurts from then on during the day.

I usually get really tired during the day - whether I've slept at night or not. Sadly, I have not yet convinced my boss that having a little nook for napping is a good idea
I have been known to fall asleep in the office once or twice.
When my husband complains about being tired, I remind him that he can go back to bed during the day

@pumpkinjam A nap nook would be a good idea.

I have the same problem like yours. That`s why I listen to music at night time until I feel sleepy

That's a good thing to do. If I knew where my headphones were, I'd try that again! I feel sleepy all the time, though, it's actually getting to sleep and not waking up tired that's the problem for me!

@m_audrey6788 Yes. Last night, I was very tired but took a long time to get to sleep. It doesn't seem to matter how much sleep I get, I rarely wake up refreshed. On the rare occasions that I do feel refreshed, I'm usually flagging by lunch time. That's why I need a nap nook in the office!

Can't believe how much I can so closely relate to this. I've been getting up to pee sometimes 4 times. I'm nodding off soon after getting up so I go and have a nap. I sleep very deeply during my naps then have trouble falling asleep at night.Luckily I'm retired so have no obligations to anyone/thing.

When my husband goes to sleep during the day or doesn't get up when he should, I remind him that he needs to wake up or he'll not sleep at night. My dodgy bladder seems to have its fun just as I'm drifting off so have to get up and then struggle to get back to sleep!

It's certainly a rare occurrence but I definitely both needed and appreciated it. I'm still tired and looking forward to not having to get up tomorrow morning. I'll most likely still wake up early, though. I've often said that I don't have a sleep pattern so much as a sleep crazy paving (but then someone asked me what crazy paving was).

@pumpkinjam Reading all the responses it seems like getting up and not sleeping when we are supposed to is the norm.

It seems like the toilet issue is the same for many of us, regardless how many hours we sleep!

In theory, yes. In practice, it doesn't always work. Then, of course, more rest isn't always a possibility.
