I was sitting here a few moments ago when I heard a door shut outside the house. I looked out the window, and was glad that I did. I saw two people hurrying up two separate driveways. They had pamphlets in their hands. Then I noticed two individuals coming up my driveway. I quickly left the room before they could see me, sneaking through the house to alert everyone not to answer the door. I have no problem with a person's belief system, provided it does not harm me. I do not like those who come door to door trying to convert people. What do you do when such people come to your neighborhood?

Yes do not come to my door I have enough here to deal with. I am afraid I would not be nice if I opened the door to them.

@RebeccasFarm I agree with you. In this digital age, they could spread their word in other ways, giving us the choice to ignore them.

I have a mean streak in me, reserved for when I'm annoyed at such things. I'd be likely to be rude too. I'm also the type to take my foul mood out on the unsuspecting.

I don't usually answer the door because it's hard for me to get around.

That's why I walked down the hall and told a family member not to answer the door, he can't stand for too long at a time.

@LindaOHio It's safer not to answer. I remember that a guy came around to check the meters here, but I was alone. He pounded his fist on the door, and I did not answer even after I realizing who he was. I acted as if I was not home.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't like answering the door if I'm alone unless I'm expecting someone.

That is good. It only encourages them to come back if you do.

I don't mind answering the door, especially if they have children with them. I used to work at a school in an area which had a flourishing population of JWs, and some of the stories the children had would make me sad. Sometimes it's important to show these people that the rest of the world is not as evil as their religion proclaims. I wish the Mormons would visit my area. I'd invite them in to watch Netflix and chill; I can't imagine being 19, away from home, limited access to the world, under scrutiny all the time ...

Does your apartment have a window at the front? Luckily we have a window that is right at the porch, I can sneak and look an decide not to open the door if I need to.

@ScribbledAdNauseum The door has a peep hole so I can see who is out there.
