Meal Planning & Weekend Update | February 2nd

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? I haven't shared my food/health post for the weekend, but that is because I haven't been on plan. Yesterday I was out of town all day shopping, so had lunch out. Then today I went out of town again to see my great-grandma and get her groceries - so had lunch out again. Tomorrow I will be on plan though, that is for sure. Weigh in? Well, since my end of month update post, I have gained 2.2 pounds of water weight. I am sure it will be even more tomorrow, but I will let you know in that update. Meal Planning.... I mentioned meal planning in the title, and I wanted to focus on that. I do have some meals that I will be making to have throughout the week; and hopefully help me stay on track. While shopping I got some ground beef - with that I plan to make a chili bake (no beans). I think this time I will add the hot dogs and make it an actual bake instead of just the chili. I also will make some enchiladas with the "low carb" tortillas. Last week I made some chicken dishes, so I am kind of tired of chicken. I got some ground pork sausage - so I will make some sausage patties and have those with some eggs. I may hard boil some eggs since I haven't done that in a long time. I might also take some bacon out to cook with the sausage and bacon. I also plan to have Keto Chow shakes, if I can one a day. What do you think of those ideas? Do you meal prep? If so, what is on your menu?

Don't let the eating out or gained weight get you down. Just do what you can when you can to get to where you want to be.

Well if I do what I can when I can, I may never get to where I want to be....I do need to do better somehow.

When we eat out in a restaurant, the meals are usually very high in sodium. This causes water weight gain, in most people.

@MommyOfEli2013 Yes, I have noticed this also. I retain more water, when eating more carbs.

@kobesbuddy I am not sure why carbs make you hold onto salt, and water....and you store the extra sugar as fat. But when you eat less carbs you let go of the water and salt...and you stop storing the sugar as fat and such. That's also why when I eat low carb I don't worry about how much salt I use!

Well I usually don't have a problem with sodium when I eat low carb. I believe it is actually the carbs that cause the water weight because carbs make you hold into salt and extra water.

It's hard to stay on track when you're not home. I'm sure you'll get back on track today. Your meal planning sounds good. I don't meal plan, though I need to go shopping today.

@MommyOfEli2013 I got most of it done. I still need to go to Aldi. I like their meat and produce.

Yes that is true, I honestly could just get a bunless burger, but I get tired of that. I gained a lot with this weekend.....but hope to lose it soon. Nothing wrong with not meal planning! Hope you were able to get your shopping done.

It will be pretty good, as long as the eggs aren't scrambled or in an omelet. Well that is good to just eat when you feel like it....and sometimes jut warm something up.

Well that sounds like a good plan to just eat when you are hungry. I do the same, but if I don't have stuff prepared I will more likely eat bad stuff.
