Along with the country songs that have "love" in the title, I'm giving you some of my favorite rock tunes that mention "love" in the title as we sail toward Valentines Day. I've been doing these first 35 alphabetically by artist, with my ten favorites still to come. Here's a classic rocker by a classic rocker!
Let My Love Open the Door - Pete Townshend
The BOF (Boring Old Fart), as he once called himself, put out a spectacular solo album in 1980. Man, I loved that album. I still do. This was the "big hit" (translated: got lots of FM rock airplay) from that album.
I thought this meant The Who had decided to hang it up. They'd had a season of tragedy, from Keith Moon's death to the eleven fans killed in Cincinnati, and when this was released I really thought it was all over. Nope. They rebounded with one of my favorite Who albums (1981's Face Dances).
Pete's not Roger vocally, but that doesn't matter. It's rock and roll, and it's all good. Especially from these guys.

I'll call Ripley's Believe It or Not. They won't believe it!

I remember when this was a hit. Good song in its day.
