I cannot continue this countdown of favorites with "love" in the title without pausing here today, February 3, to recognize the 61st anniversary of "the day the music died." BONUS: I'm Gonna Love You Too - Buddy Holly I wasn't even born when it happened, and still I -- along with countless others who only look at this tragic day in rock and roll history from newspaper clippings instead of memory -- wonder what would have happened if. I mention this every year, because Buddy Holly was the biggest name killed in the plane crash on February 3, 1959, but there was a lot of talent lost that terrible day. J.P. Richardson, known as "The Big Bopper," only had the novelty hit "Chantilly Lace" as a recording artist; however, as a songwriter his credits included Johnny Preston's hit "Running Bear," George Jones' classic "White Lightnin'," and the Hank Snow ballad "Beggar to a King." And, thanks to the biopic La Bamba, we know about 17-year-old Richie Valens, and can only speculate what a great career he would have had (given how hot he was so young). So, in memory of those remarkable talents we lost 61 years ago today, enjoy a Buddy Holly song. This was later given a great treatment by Blondie, introducing it to a new generation of fans. I'm Gonna Love You Too Written by Joe B. Mauldin, Niki Sullivan and Norman Petty Recorded by Buddy Holly Released as a single, 1957 (Also covered by Blondie on Parallel Lines, 1979) You're gonna say you miss me:
Lyrics : You're gonna say you'll a miss me You're gonna say you'll a kiss me Yes, you're gonna say you'll love me 'Cause I'm a-gonna love you too I don't car...

Buddy Holly was a very talented musician, even though he didn't live to be very old:(

And, of course, the line from Don McLean's "American Pie".

I don't think his songs will ever die. I still sing them and hear them from time to time on the radio.
