I Miss Playing Badminton

It's been already seven years since the last time I played badminton. I played 3 times a week back then for almost a year for fun furthermore, for fitness and for health but it was cut when I sustained injury. I'd enjoyed playing and at the same time enjoyed the company of my new found acquaintances. I'd love to play back but I'm not sure if I already overcome the trauma. I almost lost vision when a shuttlecock strike my right eye. The eye suffered with hyphema due to blunt trauma. During consultations to the Opthalomologist handling my case, I chanced up to ask if it's OK to play back with the current condition of my eye in which he replied back better not otherwise I might injured my eye again or the other eye either. What sports or physical activities you had given up for good? Thanks for your thoughts and good morning/ evening there.

That's quite long years. I met one lady then at her 72 still playing. She doesn't look 72 at her age maybe because of her athletic form. I think she's a former sports teacher.

Maybe you could wear glasses to protect your eyes? I have not played it in years either but then again it is not a big sport here. I liked playing it in high school when we would be allowed to play. My friend and I were pretty good at it but of course no one else to it serious like we did. I have given up many sports that I use to play as I got older, American Football, Skiing, Rock Climbing to name a few. At this stage in life I am just not physically able to do some of those things anymore. Like Running became jogging ar walking now.

@ZedSmart I try to stay active and push myself to do things but I know when to stop so I don't hurt myself.

@ZedSmart Right, hard to stay fit if your injured and can't do anything.

@Bensen32 Yes, I agree. Limitations should be taken place to avoid hurting or injuring yourself. At the end of the day, our goal is to stay fit so overdoing is a no no.

I used to play table tennis but now at my age I can`t run fast now just like before. I gave it up and enjoy a walk around instead

@m_audrey6788 I'm sorry to hear that. Time really comes that ones agility and endurance will wane.

I understand and I guess for some reasonable reasons as well.
