Called my uncle yesterday and he sounded really good. The past few days he has been really down. The adjustment of being in a nursing home can take awhile.
He had a surprise visit from his grand-daughter. And he said he was feeling Great! I let him go to enjoy the visit. He needed that more than anything.
There were issues in the past in the family I will not go into. But the grand-daughter has decided to put them all behind her. I told her how much that means to me and especially to my uncle.
I plan to go soon to see him. Working out some details. It made my day to hear him sound so much better. I hope he gets more visitors.

That is so great! I am so glad that the granddaughter is willing to put those differences behind her, and it's so good she went to see him at the nursing home. I hope she'll continue to go, I know it will make you feel better knowing someone will go to visit him when you can't.

@CarolDM Maybe her going to see the grandfather will inspire him to do the same. I don't know the situation, but I do know that some people can be more stubborn than others when it comes to letting bygones be bygones.

It is a sad life to live in a nursing home. At this early, my wife agreed that if something goes wrong with any of us, it is our home that where we should be.

@CarolDM I understand the situation there. My wife's mother was also sent to a nursing home for a time. I was the usual visitor because we are the nearest to that nursing home. It was terrible to hear the caregiver in their manner of like talking to children. Those are aged people and not toddlers.

@Alexandoy Yes I know, I worked in one for many years. I try not to think about that because I am so far away.
