A short break in a posh hotel

My wife and I have been lucky enough to grab a short break away from home in the Scottish Highland town of Fort William. We came across a great deal online and couldn't pass it up so, at a moment's notice we were up, up and away! We have landed really lucky in that, not only have we scored a cheap hotel deal but, upon arrival at the hotel we found that we have also been upgraded to an even posher room! We will be here for a couple of days and, since photography is my hobby, you can all expect to see photographs of the area in the coming days! Watch this space!

Oooh nice! Spent 4 days in Fort William in June 2018 when we climbed Ben Nevis. Lovely place. Have a great couple of days you lucky bugger!

@ScotMac It was pushing 30 degrees celcius when we did it. It was a real slog but well worth it for the views. And there was still some snow near the top which was quite welcome.

@WorDazza Snow on the summit of The Ben isn't unusual - it can snow up there at any time of the year.

My eldest son (Wingman) and I know this area well having climbed many of the hills around here but, oddly, not The Ben. It's on my to-do list

@LadyDuck Our deal was a 'last minute' offer - travel next day or we wouldn't get it. That's the beauty of being retired and not tied down by kids or pets!
