From Rags To Riches.....

He went yesterday he left us all. Much to my dismay he was one of the best I pay a tribute to a great actor. His Father was in the lowest paid income you could imagine but he kept on and on. Kirk had a friend Lauren Bacall when they were first started out. She once gave him a coat to keep him warm and they were good friends helping each other for several years. This is how I like to see Kirk Douglas with his fearless and forward attitude to life itself. May love speed you my friend hasta muy pronto until very soon.

@marguicha Oh yes I have not seen that one in a long time. But Spartacus is a real heart string puller and I can watch the first part until they get captured again and that´s it I put it off.

Me too because I loved that cheeky grin of his and that devil maycare attitude. He had a stroke at 92 and he came back strong that is how Kirk Douglas was. I cannot bear to watch the end of Spartacus as they crucify Tony Curtis and Kirk Douglas its way too sad for me at least.

Yes the famous cleft chin is gone, so sad . As a young boy I always watched Spartacus during holy weeks where they only show religious movies or those during the time of the Roman empire, this is how I remember him.

I did not realize it till today and at first I was almost in tears. But then I remember him as he was and I am smiling again about what he has put into this world.

He started out living in poverty from what I have been reading and Lauren Bacall helped him all she could. Love Lauren Bacall too.

He was a good actor for sure. Though many of his movies do not readily come to mind when I think of him. He was a little before my time. THAT being said, I am well aware of many other actors from his era who come more readily to mind for whatever reason.

Ever since I have been able to watch him I was watching him no matter what film. He has made loads of them but he said his favourite was "Lonely Are The Brave".

He has a good life and lived long enough to see the fruits of his labor. Now it's time to rest.
