The morning went away.

I woke up late. I did not sleep last night because, very late, I started to watch a movie and that kept me awake most of the night. Then, this late morning, as I was making an experiment with the last sweet potato (I sliced it thinly, fried it and ate it with sugar), I started to watch lots of photos with Kirk Douglas. It was like going back in time. While I was reminiscing, I has some Duchess potatoes baking in the little electric oven. Now I´m mylotting while I eat them for lunch with a heated escalivada. The images of Kirk Douglas also brought to my memory the names of other great actors such as Burt Lancaster, Charlton Heston and the great actress Elizabeth Taylor. I wonder if this generation knows about these great celebrities.

It is a pity. It was a great era in Hollywood.

I'm sure most do not know them or about them. Some will say they have heard their names but have no clue how great they were on the big screen.

Many of the young people have never watched Charlie Chaplin. I must have seen some of his movies several times, a long time after they were released.

It is sad but at 103 he had lead a long good and kindly life. I doubt many of the younger generation will know actors and actresses from my parents era. Richard Burton, Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, John Wayne Clark Gable Henry Fonda Sammy Davis Junior, Spencer Tracy, Micky Rooney, James Cagney Gary Cooper Gregory Peck.So many very talented people.

I doubt that this generation is familiar with them. Maybe Elizabeth Taylor.

It was. It seems that he was very much loved by his family too.

Unfortunately so many young people refuse to watch old movies.

What a tremendous acting career Kirk had. One of the greats for sure! One my favorite films he starred in was Spartacus.
