Do we wisen up more, once we enter the after-life?

Is the wisest owl on Earth dumber done the dumbest owl in Heaven?

Matthew, chapter 11, verse 11, from the Christian Bible, says this interesting verse: "Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." This was Jesus Christ saying this, so what did he mean here, by this remark of his? It implies, to me, that when we reach Heaven, something must happen to us to enlighten, and grow us in wisdom, love, and truth, as how otherwise could everybody in Heaven be greater than the greatest here on the Earth. Loves lives of course unadulterated/undiluted in Heaven, where there is no sin, only truth, verified as truth by God's presence there. This means that there we live in a rarefied place, and this lifts us in a greater space in our self in order to fit in there too. So, yes, we must take a quantum leap of faith, growth, and love, (compared to the levels that we were living from of these before in our Earthly lives) now possessing them in greater quantities in Heaven, because it was our lack of faith that held us back here on the Earth, but in Heaven, faith is not faith anymore, but real knowing of God. They were talking about John the Baptist in my Church, and that's why I was thinking about what Jesus Christ said there, and what it might have really meant.

@FayeHazel I hope so. I hope it is like that. I would like to be able to join the dots, and to put some of the missing pieces of the puzzle into their proper spots, so that I could better understand life, my part in it, and where God, or some higher powers might fit in too.

@innertalks I've actually had this thought for a little bit. Like, maybe - perhaps - when we get to the beyond - we can finally see why things are the way they are. We can see why people responded to us like they did and or feel how you made others feel … actually I don't know why I think this - but I imagine it in the case of certain difficult people... narcissists, sociopaths... And then to read the scripture reference you mention.... Perhaps it is like that?

Yes, that's the only conclusion that I could come too to.

@RebeccasFarm I agree with that observation too. I have also read many books, that purport to be "channelled" through the writer, quoting the wise words of someone, some higher soul, or being in the other worlds. This would also support the idea, that we wisen up once we get over there, and have greater access to knowledge, truth, and perhaps to God, himself too.

That makes the afterlife an aspiration.

Yes, we should all be striving to the best person we can be, before we enter the afterlife too, I think.

I believe we get corrupted to a great degree here as the environment does not allow us to be pure. However, it is real bliss to be pure and loving but we may not then be able to fit in to society; we may even be taken as weird! Our inner knowing is connected to our creator and that means the guide is inside us. So we should never feel orphaned or devoid of guidance. We will fit in to the circumstances and when God effuses love as only he can do, we should just merge without a second thought hereafter wherever we find ourselves in - siva

I think that the Earth is a conducive place to grow our soul in, but to even go to the Earth, our soul needs much growth, as it is, this implies. Higher-level souls have already graduated from there, I suspect. The Earth is a school of hard knocks, for hard-nosed souls, even so, God can be reached there too, as God can be reached in all places too. Yes, we should stay connected to our soul, and to God. We need both connections to grow ourselves optimally here, I would think.

@Shiva49 The inner knowing that we are spiritual beings, brings us all that we need to start our spiritual journey. Love is our teacher. When we accept our spiritual side, meaning and truth come out of us then to greet us with themselves. Yes, every religion has truth within it, the problem is though, that when they try to hoard it for themselves, they board up the love then, and any true connection to truth is then lost.

@innertalks The whole process should have meaning and truth beyond our comprehension right now. The inner knowing is the master key according to me and that is connected to creator himself and acts as the guide. The outer, physical, world is for us to be engaged in. We are here as guests, visitors. to spread love and not to hoard what we can at the expense of others' needs. The Quran mentions what we hoard can prove an albatross around our necks later. Yes, this life is a school of hard knocks and, hopefully, nothing more is in store for us when we stick to the rules, in a way agreed to be led like sheep! siva

That's true too. We might have some realisations, that we were blocking ourselves from seeing before, because we were pursuing unworthy, worldly things, rather than spiritual truths.

@amitkokiladitya Worldly pursuits lose their importance, yes, we no longer care about obtaining just worldly success, at the expense of our spiritual journey.
