A good lunch date today....

That was the best part of Wednesday today. Since I was off from work and husband worked from home, we had a good lunch together without girls. They were at their school. We just felt that we did not get a lunch date in long time. A hot home made meal and our quiet house was perfect romantic set up but we didn't talk anything romantic. . We went on discussing politics, budget and everything around the world. I made jackfruit curry with tadka dal ( pulses) and bhindi fry( okra). We had it with hot rice. Jackfruit is favorite of mine and husband. Our girls are not so fond of it. The picture is of jackfruits that my friend got from her farmhouse yesterday and I took one of it. I have used half today and will make something delicious out of other half on Sunday. It takes some time to cut, clean and cook. So we need a holiday to cook something out of jackfruit.

Yes. It is. Even cooking needs time. So it's for days you are at home.

@arunima25 I'm sure it was in one of the dishes we had in Nepal.

Yes. Quite common in Asia. We use raw ones as vegetables curry and other spicy delicacies. Ripe ones are eaten as fruit. Even seeds make separate dish. I tried jackfruit flavor icecream and it was really delicious.

Yes it's becoming quite rare these days. Except for our Friday night TV watching we don't get much of alone time.
