Giving treats at the workplace

At this new workplace, my colleagues always bring candies and a variety of goodies when they come back from vacations. From healthy nuts and seeds to chocolates and candies. Also, they offer small treats for birthdays and special occasions. And there is always an occasion to celebrate.
It's a very friendly gesture but a new concept for me. In my previous workplace, we didn't have treats except from birthdays sometimes. I like this new concept, but it's hard to maintain my healthy habits and weight with all this chocolate.
What do you think about this habit?
Is it something you would also participate?

I always do that in my former office that my colleagues there would be excited when I would file a vacation leave for a trip abroad.

Now I am taking the candies and keep them in the drawer for later.
