The Capital Reef Resort in Utah has a unique experience waiting for you. You can feel as if you stepped back in time as you sleep under a covered wagon complete with either a king size bed or bunk beds, and each wagon has air conditioning. There are private bathrooms provided as well.
For those looking for some modern relaxation, there is a hot tub on site and a swimming pool open seasonally. There's a buffet style restaurant on site as well, so you won't have to go hunting for your food out in the wild.
The Capital Reef Resort also offers cabins and teepees to stay in, and there are all sorts of experiences near by.
If you want to stay in one of the covered wagons you'll have to wait until May, and don't wait too long because September they close for the season. You'll be paying around $270.00 for the chance to stay in a covered wagon.

@rakski Do you remember Wil. E. Coyote and The Road Runner from the looney tunes? The pictures I've seen of this place in Utah reminds me of that cartoon.

Same! It's air conditioned too, but I imagine the nights there are cooler.

@ScribbledAdNauseum when we lived in Vegas, there were times when it would be really warm during the day and freezing at night.

That's unusual. A covered wagon with all the comforts of home. AND a buffet!

I would like to see a covered wagon but not sleep in one. My grandmother was born in a covered wagon on the Oregon trail.

That must have been a scary experience for the mother, having to give birth in a covered wagon.
I have an ancestor who was born on the ocean. I can't begin to imagine the conditions on that boat.
