Postcard from Kampung Simpah, Malaysia

United States

I love pictures of doors, because every time you enter through one, a new and different world appears (even if it's just the bathroom). Postcards with doors are very desirable by me. This postcard traveled from Kampung Simpah, Malaysia to Texas and that's 9,555 miles and took 23 days to arrive. The stamps are a collection of fruits I'm unfamiliar with, and the message was very sweet. Picture is mine, and the image is not so great. I send and receive cards from Postcrossings.

So you know someone in Malaysia? Is it from a myLotter? I, too, love unusual doors. I’m pretty used to my bathroom door.

It's from a site called postcrossings, and it's free. I love it so much, and I've sent or received almost 800 postcards from around the world. 55,000,000 have been sent out so far. I just realized I sound like I'm in a commercial--lol

@misunderstood_zombie Wow! Thems a lot of postcards! Just as long as you enjoy them, that’s all that matters. Do you save them?

I love postcards and it is a pity no one seems to care about sending them anymore.

You should try postcrossing.com That is where I send and receive postcards. It's free and you get random people to send to and receive from.

interesting door - it would be good to know what is behind it - this photo is the pub sign for The Red Door pub in Liverpool, for which they simply hung up a red door as the sign

I love doors too, and I find a yellow door very happy looking.

I trying to remember if I've seen a yellow door and I can't remember seeing one, but I can imagine it would be cheerful looking.

That’s neat how you feel about doors. It’s definitely a different way of thinking then I have ever done. What is postcrossings?

I used to send postcards from where I was traveling. There was one time when I went to Beijing and I sent back postcards to my friends. I came back from Beijing and the postcards haven't arrived. I sent one to myself too. It really took a long time even if it's just a postcard.

I tried Postcrossings and never received anything, so gave it up. I'm glad you got a nice postcard with a door on it.
