What are you having for dinner tonight? My dinner pretty much reflects my activities for the last two days.

What are you having for dinner tonight? Or what did you have? Yesterday, my Filipino stereo geek friend came over and helped me test some equipment. He brought me some adobo chicken and some noodles, a pretty traditional Filipino meal. There was a leftover chicken breast after we ate (I served him tea and wine), so I put it in the fridge. Later, I went to an European American friend's house, and did some sanding work on a table that will be displayed in a nice house that's for sale. She intenends to pay me (I am a friend, so I will probably have her pay me in beer and wine). She went and got some Thai food while I was working. She sent the leftover red curry beef home with me. So tonight, I did the obvious: I combined the leftover adobo chicken with the leftover curry and rice, and called it a meal. It was really delicious, to be honest. So what are you having tonight? And how did it come to be your choice for this particular evening?

@wolfgirl569 So it's basically tomato sauce, cheese, and whatever toppings you think up? Sounds good!

Our main cooked meal was a late lunch of homemade chicken fajitas. Tonight we had pizza since so much has been going on today and no one wanted to cook again. Tomorrow, I'll make Gorditas for lunch but no idea for dinner yet.

Tell me about gorditas! To me that translates to "fat girl." Are they big burritos?

@TheHorse They are made from thick flour like tortillas called Gorditas and filled with makings like tacos but add sour cream. Some make them different but to me they are close to a taco. Fat girl works for me since I love tacos and gorditas and it shows.

Interesting! I only do sauerkraut (of course I wanted to type "sourkraut") on hot dogs and corned beef sandwiches!

@TheHorse My husband's German background made me a convert. There's no better smell when pork and sauerkraut is cooking in the oven!

curry is a yummy dish to eat with rice (or with baguette). I haven't cooked it for a long long time. I think I have most ingredients needed for making this dish but potatoes (my mother's recipe has fried potatoes). I think I like my mother's curry mainly because of those yummy fried potato chunks.

@TheHorse he did okay. I’d probably do a better job of it because I wanted panned and the way he seasoned it was very light and did it was Apple juice and a little bit of seasoning. Some times when he cooks it’s great and other times it’s okay and editable.

It sounds like a multicultural dinner, I have tried adobo and it's very tasty.Yesterday I had a small sandwitch with salad, I replace dinner with snack usually but I was really hungry.

What was on the side? I like French toast, but a big slab of ham and one egg scrambled would make it even better. As you, know I'm a Midwesterner at heart.

@TheHorse I only had a slice of bacon. It was off the senior menu, so they don't add a lot to the plate, which was good. The toast was thick.

You are a lucky guy. I love Filipino and Thai food more than Chinese food. That meal you had was a good combination. I am making Pork Adobo now for tomorrow's lunch and the leftover would be for dinner.

We're actually going out for dinner. The Men's Shed are having a 'lady's night'. Vince doesn't belong to the nearest group but one in the next town which gets guest speakers every month rather than having sheds full of tools, etc. I think we've pre-ordered lamb of some sort and lemon cheesecake.
