No water since afternoon.....

There has been no water supply since lunch time here. Apparently they sent a notice to be signed by all residents to get the consent of doing so. I was at work yesterday when they came for door to door signature. My elder one signed it and she conveniently forgot to tell us. So soon after my lunch when I went to wash my hand, I noticed this slow flow. That reminded my daughter about the notice. Well we had some ten minutes to store enough water for drinking and two buckets for other use. It is supposed to be back by 7 in evening. They are fixing individual water meters. And that's an excellent idea to discipline water usage. Once you pay for something you use it judiciously. Earlier we all shared the water expense and every one paid equal amount irrespective of their usage. That was not fair. Now in this new rule, you pay a minimum amount if your usage is below a limit. A certain limit is free but if you cross the limit, it's going to be four times the charge. They have come up with a fair and smart calculations And we are happy. We are judicious about water expenditure. And so definitely we will get less amount to be paid from April. My daughters wanted some food for evening snack. No water meant we can't cook any of our evening snacks. Even fruits need to be washed and we don't want all water to get over before 7. It might get delayed till 8_9. So I ordered some spring rolls. We are enjoying it. That will keep us full for some time. Dinner might also get a little delayed as I can make it only when water is there.

Occasionally we aren't able to access water and it really makes you appreciate how much you need water and how you are forever using it.

I totally agree. It's our lifeline and we hardly realise it till we get one such day. It's 11 in the night and they are still working and though the supply in bathroom has come back, we have still not got it in our kitchen.

@arunima25 Hopefully it won't be long now. Maybe it's reconnected already.

Amazing that consent is needed. People here just turn off no one ask.

Our apartment is quite particular about rules. And that's why I love it. Glad residents are also cooperative to maintain the decorum.

yes, i remember that and have always thought it was an unfair setup. our usage fluctuates the whole year because the headcount also fluctuates. i'm glad you're able to order something to tide you over. tell your daughters to text you immediately or forward you the image of similar letters next time.

Yes individual water meter definitely is a fair thing to go for. My daughter doesn't have a personal phone. That was our parental resolution to keep her away from phone unless she actually needs it.

We generally don't store water as we get it all the time. And when there is such cut we get a prior notice so that we are prepared and store enough of it.

Thank goodness we have a well up north. No one in Florida has needed to turn off our water supply. It must be frustrating to be without water.

We do get a non stop supply of water except for days like this. And they always send a prior notice to get prepared. They cut it only when there is some maintenance or repair work going on
