Have you seen the ads on TV regarding the Roundup weed killer being sued due to it causing cancer? I have been seeing them on TV and online for months. Well, recently(last few days) I have seen a Roundup commercial online for Roundup listing different up scale companies that endorse this product and that they have done a lot of research in making it as safe as possible. Come on already. Can they really think that they have taken all the cancer out of this product and that it is safe to use now?

I once worked for a company when Monsanto took it over. One of the first things they did was to do a presentation to the staff about the 'benefits' of Roundup. The person doing the presentation said that it was so safe that he could even drink the stuff - he didn't, of course! I wish that I had challenged him to do so in front of us all. I don't believe that he would have done! Very soon after that, the GM lobby got very active in the UK (Roundup was developed mainly to kill weeds among crops which had been genetically modified to resist it and it was mainly the genetic modification which people were worried about, not the harmfulness of the chemical to humans and animals). Monsanto pulled out of many of their UK and European ventures after that - but not before they got rid of many of the really excellent agricultural scientists who worked for the companies they took over. Monsanto (and Bayer and several other concerns) are NOT interested in the environment and wildlife. They are ONLY interested in profits and they will pay large amounts of money to researchers to 'prove' that their chemicals are harmless to humans and wildlife. They also pay huge amounts to lobby governments and law makers so that their products will not be banned.

Vinegar poured on weeds on sunny days kills 'em. Pee is supposed to work, too.

We could direct all the drunks who insist on 'going' outside to our lawns. Haha

I saw one of their commercials disputing how safe it is from people who say how bad it is. I still don’t trust what they say.

It needs to be taken off the shelves. They are facing millions in restitution; so they are trying to make up for some of the losses.

I hope that some gardening places will do that. Or have already. I wonder.
