20 days until spring! I got some answers about my post on WiFi. I still would like to hear more opinions when it comes to hot spots, jet packs and all the other things I don't understand. I don't have a smartphone. That is key to your answer. What do I need to do to use my laptop, let's say, in the car? I click on the WiFi symbol on the lower right-hand side of the screen. I look for available internet connections and click on one? Do I understand this so far? I have software to protect me from hackers when I'm using another internet; so that's not an issue. What is on your agenda for the rest of the day? Good night, good morning to all. I will see you again on Saturday. Photo Credit: Free Images

I am very cautious getting online outside my home due to wifi connections not begin safe. No plans.

I have a WiFi shield which is an additional piece of software which hopefully protects me when I'm at a hot spot.

I had just asked about a smart phone. Oh well. You can pick up different types of hotspots to use if you want. But except for that I think you have it now.

First, love the picture!!!! do you want the hard answer or the easy answer to your question? Carol is right in her comment that you have to be careful. If the goal is use your laptop in the car, there are several options.

@DocAndersen I only need it for one month. What are my options then? If I get a hot spot/jet pack, do you have to get a telephone company subscription with it? Maybe I would be better off to just wait and use it in the evenings in the hotel/motel.

@LindaOHio The easy button is to get a MiFI.its a battery operated wifi hub that has built in cellular connections and is pretty cheap per month!

I am technically "useless", so sorry I can't help you for this. See you tomorrow, the snow is beautiful right now, quite a site.
