About last night's gig

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post videos of my gigs here, but last night was fun. We played well, for the second night in a row, and managed to load up the equipment at 1:15 AM without feeling particularly tired. Our lead singer (a diva) was a bit of a pain, as he always is, but I managed to haul several amps heads and etc. outside without incident. It seems that there's latent "Dead Head" in a lot of people, even those in their 20s. When I did this song, a lot of people got up and danced. The band leader, who us known for sometimes not paying us, or keeping the tips for himself, actually paid as we were leaving. I have $160 in cash that's headed for the bank. Here's the song I did last night in our third set. The place was winding down, but this song got people up and dancing. This recording is from a couple of years ago, and it's tighter now, but the "vibe" is the same. It's a Grateful Dead song, and I love the Grateful Dead. I hope you enjoy.

Delta Deuce, what’s that flower you cut loose....oh, wait. A fine job there. And I’m glad you got your tips in cash and not sugar cubes or carrots this time!!

Playing a bass with hooves is easier than playing a guitar. Fewer strings, and they're fatter.

Musicians can be strange. Have you dealt with musicians with "delusions of adequacy" (Horse, 1994)?

@TheHorse We joke (Vin and I) that musicians are temperamental - half temper and half mental.

@JudyEv I'd have to agree with that. The lead singers can be the worst. They have a need to be in the spotlight, and some get angry when others in the band tell a joke or sing better than they do.

@amitkokiladitya But I still haven't found the perfect band for me. That's why I'm so happy that Vanny and DJ have posted some on my "solo" stuff on YouTube.

@KristenH As I've mentioned elsewhere, the band leader is very difficult. He's not a very good singer, but doesn't seem to know it. He misses beats sometimes, and the rest of the band has to scramble to get things on track. He is also very demanding, but sometimes does not make his wants and needs clear. I think he has OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder) and has to be in absolute control.
