I really admire the way that Kansas City Police officer Erik Winters took care of a widow named Jimmie Charlene Herbst when he found her living by herself in a home that was not suitable for her to live in. Walters assisted Herbst to find a new home in an assisted living facility by becoming a special friend to her when she moved from her former home in 2016. What happened when Jimmie left her former home was that a burglar broke into her empty home and stole around $2,800 dollars worth of U S saving bonds. Even though the criminal was captured, it took a while for the auction company to locate the person who lost the money in 2018.. Thanks to Officers Bill Keeney and Officer Erik Winters, they were able to find out that the owner of the lost bonds since through old police cases, they found that the lost bonds belonged to Jimmie. Even though Officers Winters was not able to personally hand Jimmie a check for $5,700 since the bonds value grew in four years, his partner went to the assisted living home to hand her the check. Jimmie hugged Officer Keeney for handing her the lost money in U S bonds. I am happy to report that two Kansas City Missouri police officer did their part to return the lost bond money to a senior citizen who was saved from living in a home that was not suitable to live in by herself.

It's rare that stolen goods are recovered for the owner.

You are correct since most criminals find a way to spend the stolen goods.

Very interesting! It is great that they were able to get these bonds. So many have terrible things happen and no one like this to help!

I agree with since the police get such bad publicity from the media nationwide, it is nice to see the local media showing their viewers that are good some good cops in our world.

Jimmie thanked the officer who gave her the check since his partner could not be there to present the check himself.
