Most of you are probably aware that the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo might be postponed because of the coronavirus. They are required to give three months notice to postpone them, and the time is fast approaching. I have read that they thought about waiting until winter for them, but I wonder what the weather in Japan is like in the winter; track and field in snow could be tricky unless it had a roof over it.
Some of you may not care, but I would think for the athletes it's got to be nail biting. I mean, their main source of recognition, the Olympics, only comes around once every four years.
In 2000 I won a contest to see the Sydney Olympics, and I'll never forget it. I hope the IOC makes the right decision. I would err on the side of caution, but I'm not the boss.

I am also concerned with the Tokyo Olympics this year. Think of the athletes who are currently training only to be told that the games are cancelled. It is a pity for them to be exerting effort for nothing. On the part of the host, so much money has been spent already and it would be a disaster when the virus persists by July.

I personally don't care, but hope the best decision is made either way.

I had heard that they cancelled; but maybe that's incorrect. Athletes train all of those years to be in the Olympics. That would be a big blow to them.
