1872 - George Westinghouse patents the air brake.
1955 - Penn Jillette was born. He is an American magician, actor, musician, inventor, television personality and author. Penn is half of the magic duo of Penn & Teller. They are currently headlining at The Rio in Las Vegas.
1958 - Andy Gibb was born. He is an English singer and songwriter. He is the younger brother of Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb (The Bee Gees). He died in 1988.
1963 - Joel Osteen was born. He is an American pastor of "America's largest church", a televangelist and author. He has been called the "most popular preacher on the planet". Osteen's sermons are seen weekly by 10 million viewers in the United States and several million more in more than 100 countries.
