Henry Mancini was born on April 16, 1924, and was an American composer, conductor, arranger, pianist and flautist. He won 4 Academy Awards, 1 Golden Globe and 20 Grammys for his compositions. Mancini's "Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet" was #1 on the Billboard charts for 2 weeks in 1969. He passed away in 1994. he was well deserving of all those awards! iconic talent. even just pink panther theme is so recognizable even today. so many covers of his work
