In our state of Washington it has closed universities, and schools. Many are home working rather than the office. Even day cares are closed. Many stores are out of Toilet Paper and Hand sanitizer. You can use bleach and Lysol or Pinesol that helps a lot too. My husband is a substitute school teacher was laid of for 6 weeks which really hurts us financially. He cannot work from home and teachers who are subs cannot apply for unemployment benefits. financially we will have a hard time paying bills come May and maybe June. Not good. We hope to sell some things to help make ends meet . We are in our 70's and live very rural and keep to ourselves and so are fine that way and we do have food etc. I think that Media and some people are over doing and over thinking this virus situation. How has it affected you and your family

I feel you. The same thing happens here. Business people and professionals are affected.

This is heart-breaking. Could you still try filing for unemployment anyway? You might get a break due to the situation. I thought Washington would allow such a thing....

@Liberti Yay!!!! I'm glad to hear that. I had a feeling subs are able to still get some form of unemployment, after all. Wishing you the best ~

I don't know what to think. The stores here in Moses Lake are being run over by freaked out people. My husband is a social worker in the welfare department so he deals with folks who could have most everything all the time. We live in a semi rural area on a bit of acreage.

We too live rural and on acreage 20 miles from Spokane area. Finally Central Valley School District let sub teachers know they can file unemployment for now especially those who are elderly and may need to self quarantine. Heard some subs are having issues with Dist 81 in Spokane though so hope they can get it figured out.

@Liberti Its just three acres for me. We bought a house near Olympia for our retirement in two years. Now we are wondering about moving over there to the busy life or stay here- might end up renting this trailer and living there or not. It would be hard to be an elderly teacher right now.

I'm just staying at home, working on a book, practicing guitar, and using paper towel to wipe my tush. I think we're still allowed to do outdoor exercise here, so I've gone cycling a couple of times with Horse Jr.

I am so sorry to hear this. I don't know if the teachers in our country are paid even if the classes are suspended due to the virus.
