Do you say no?

I have to admit, I had a problem almost all my life to say no to people. That resulted in people taking advantage of me and sacrificing my own needs and wants because of others. If I promise something, I do my best to keep my word.
But when I finally realized that if you don't say no, you will be overwhelmed by requests and you will not progress, I started to say no to people. I lost some "friends" because of this, but it was worth it. I still like to help people, but I let them know that this is a favor and not a rule.

@CarolDM That is a shame, but all of them experience this during our lifetime.

And that is a good attribute! Were you like that all your life?

@rappeter13 when it is beyond my ability, I say no. When my help will be harmful to you or someone else, I say no.
